Description
Victor is a 10 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who has come into our care from a breeder, and we would absolutely love to see him spend his golden years in a warm, loving home rather than kennels.
This sweet gentleman enjoys life at a slower pace. A gentle daily stroll where he can potter along, taking in all the interesting sniffs, will suit him perfectly. After that, Victor is more than happy to curl up in a cosy bed for a peaceful snooze. He absolutely adores a fuss and will thrive in a home where he can enjoy plenty of cuddles and affection.
Victor gets along wonderfully with other dogs and could happily live with calm canine companions. That said, he’s also confident and settled enough to be the only dog, as long as his adopters are around enough to give him the love and companionship he enjoys.
He already walks nicely on the lead and will enjoy slow, sniffy strolls once he’s settled into his new surroundings. Victor could live with older, dog savvy children aged 9+ who understand the importance of giving him a calm introduction and respecting his need for a quiet, cosy space to rest.
As you might expect for a gentleman of his years, Victor does have a few medical needs. He has a Grade 2 – 3 heart murmur that will need monitoring by his new vet, and we are currently treating a bilateral ear infection. He has one microphthalmic eye and suffers from dry eyes, so his vision may be somewhat limited. His skin is in poor condition at the moment, and he is receiving medicated baths to help manage dermatitis and alopecia. He also has arthritis in his back legs and a slightly wobbly gait, so he takes life at a slower, steadier pace.
Victor will need an adopter who understands the needs of an older dog and is committed to providing his daily medication and ongoing care.
