Rosie

Rosie originally came to us from a breeder almost 7 years ago and found a wonderful home where she has been absolutely adored. Sadly, one of her elderly owners passed away and the other is now too unwell to care for her, so she has been returned to us. Rosie went straight into foster and is currently living with two small dogs and a cat and gets on well with them.

* Needs adopters who are understanding of her medical needs

Rosie will be looking for a very special retirement home, as not only is she 9 years old, but she also has Cushing’s disease, which is well controlled with daily medication. Her adopters will need to be aware that this condition will not be covered by insurance, and her medication costs are approximately $100 per month. She will also need routine vet check-ups every 3-6 months to monitor her condition. Like many golden oldies, Rosie has a few age related “old lady” warts which don’t bother her and also has some other lumps and bumps, which given her age, will not be investigated further. She has some areas of sore skin, cataracts in both eyes and is missing several teeth.

Despite her age, Rosie still loves her walkies and is an agile little lady. She’s been an angel in foster, is fully house trained and spends most of her time snoozing on the sofa or in her bed – until mealtimes, when she makes sure you don’t forget to feed her! �

She does get a little worried when strangers come to the house or when she meets strangers on walks and can bark at them, but she soon settles down again with some reassurance.

She is an incredibly sweet girl who enjoys fuss, but prefers to just be chilling near you.

She has the most wonderful, kind, gentle temperament and whoever adopts her is going to be so very lucky to have a Rosie in their lives.
